Each year there are millions of dogs and cats that find themselves abandoned and wandering the streets, or removed from homes where they are abused, mistreated, and ignored.
These lost souls are usually placed in shelters to await euthanasia, but for a lucky few, organizations and individuals step in and step up to do everything they can to help save the lives of as many as they can.
These people spend thousands of dollars and hours making an effort to help all they can with little gratitude, other than the sweet eyes of the pets they nurse back to health and find loving homes for.
For the majority of us, that's all we need!
Through non-profit organizations like Lost Paws rescue of Texas, a few set out to save a thousand, and you to can make a difference!
Every little bit helps, and no action is too small!
There is several ways that you can take action to help save the lives of abandoned and abused pets in your own hometown.
Find a local organization to join.
If you have a favorite breed, there are specialty organizations that work to save any certain breed, such as the Labrador Retriever Rescue in Dallas, Texas, or the United States Shih Tzu Rescue.
All pet rescues help spread the word and educate the public.
You can volunteer and help with adoptions, fostering, or work behind the scenes to help them help the animals.
You dont have to know alot about the animals you work for!
Organizations are always in need of people in all types of fields.
Photographers, marketing & sales, administration and office work, construction people to help maintain facilities, event planning, and much, much more.
You can help by sponsoring a specific dog within an organization, that has medical problems, to help with much needed treatments until a home can be found for them.
You can help with donating not only cash & pet supplies, but administration and construction supplies, advertising space, and specialty items like vehicles, and one of the greatest commodities of all .... your time!
